Greg Irons, Director of Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary was the MC for the Wine for Wildlife Dinner and the spruiker for the night that included silent auction items such as a giant soft-toy wombat, stunning paintings, accommodation, unique pieces of jewellery, amongst other fabulous donations. The highlight of the night was the live auctioning of a bottle of Sullivan’s Cove’s finest Whisky and a trip to the Tarkine that produced an enthusiastic bidding war. Monies raised on the evening far exceeded expectations.
With the likes of Rob Pennicott, Villa Howden’s General Manager Brian Walsh and Donna Mathews from the sanctuary, who worked tirelessly to put the fundraising dinner together, it was a night of enjoyment and all for a good cause. The food was prepared by Villa Howden’s in-house restaurant & kitchen team headed up by Chef Adrian Mathews whose dishes were complimented by the donation of wines from some of Tasmania’s best wineries ranging from the boutique to the big.
Wine Dinner for Wildlife was a triumphant night with delicious cuisine, diverse wines and dollars that will go a long way in continuing to care for the injured animals and ensuring they have every chance to get back ‘home’.
